It all started when…

Debbie left the bank for a tiny coffee shop on Trotwood Avenue.

Columbia local Debbie Cooper made a career switch and left her banking job to manage a tiny coffee shop on Trotwood Avenue. She immediately began transforming the store with new ideas and community outreach, and within six months she went from manager to owner. In January 2002 Buckhead Coffeehouse was unveiled, and the public responded enthusiastically.

They've evolved a lot over the years, and the fan base (family) has kept growing. Loyal regulars and friendly baristas make a warm, hospitable room that tries to make everyone feel welcome.

Our coffee comes from Old Hickory.

Buckhead pours Summit Coffee Company, a Middle Tennessee roaster started in 1993 by Larry Hunt. Summit roasts more than thirty varieties from Africa, Asia and Central and South America, buys direct from farmers when it can, and roasts and delivers within one to three days of an order. Bags of the house blends sit on the counter if you want to take some home.
